Winter Skin Care Guide for Dry Skin
4 min read
Ceramides, hyaluronic acid and lukewarm water: three rules for healthy skin all winter.
Cold air outside and heated air inside strip moisture from the skin. The result is tightness, flaking and irritation.
Look for creams with ceramides, which rebuild the skin barrier, and hyaluronic acid, which draws water into the skin. Apply moisturizer on slightly damp skin right after washing to lock in hydration.
Shower with lukewarm, not hot, water and keep showers short. Use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser.
Do not skip sunscreen: winter sun still causes damage, especially on snowy days. A humidifier in the bedroom can also make a noticeable difference.
